“We only have two choices: do nothing or Do something“
Tony Kirwan
Life is full of choices, we spend all our lives choosing between two or more options. And at times, those decisions become very difficult and can certainly change our lives. Furthermore, the decisions we make not only affect us personally but also the world we live in. Thus, the type of fashion we chose to consume also does influence the environment around us. If the lifestyle followed is aligned with environmental consciousness, then sustainable fashion is the perfect match. Enjoying the joy and creativity that fashion provides its consumers with but in a sustainable way. However, all options have its pros and cons, and for those who are on the edge about filling their wardrobes with sustainable clothing, here is a list of pros and cons of sustainable fashion.

P R O S
~Respeting the Environment
Most people want to be active in the fight of climate change but do not know what to do or where to start from. Well, involving themselves in the sustainable fashion industry is a great beginning. By buying sustainbale clothes, products that have been produced by recycled or sustainably grown materials are supported which means that the less harm has been done to the environment in the process. For example, buying products that has been made of sustainably grown cotton or recycled denim.
~Longer Usage to Clothes
It is always nice when we find a good deal and we get a piece of clothing cheaper than its original price. However, how many times that piece did not last as long as we expected? When we invest money on sustainable fashion we are buying products which will meet our expectations and more since they have been made with high quality raw materials.
~More Space in the Closet
It is not ususal to buy a lot of products from sustainable fashion stores because of the high pricing and durability of the products. Thus, by buying less clothes we will have more room in the closet to fill it up with more clothes in the future and we will be able to organize it better.

~Money Management Skills
Today, it is super important to have good money management skills. Since usually a few pieces are bought at a time and buying sosteinable clohes involves an important investment, it is essesntial to research and compare different options and prices before making a decison. In this process, money management skills are improved.

~Difficult to Follow Trends
Unfortunately, the sustainable fashion industry is not as big as fast fashion industry. Due to this fact, there are less companies who offer sustainbale clothes and therefore there is less choice when it comes to selection. Moreover, for the most part these companies are small sized so it is very difficult for them to offer the last fashion trends.
~ Less Choice
Apart from the trends, it is also more difficult to find clothes that might fulfill different types of styles. However, the industry is getting bigger and it will soon be able to provide a wider bariety of clothes.
~Spending More Money
A higher quality also means a higer price. Sustainable clothing is, in general, more expensive than fast fashion. This is due to the size of the industry, the high quality materials used in the production and the investment in social ethics that many many sustainable fashion companies do when buying their prdocuts and raw materials.
